H.F. “Fritz” Wood is a Certified Financial Planner™ who has been fully engaged in the veterinary industry for over 18 years. He has conducted important research into the business of veterinary medicine, including pet owner research and identifying the attributes of high-performing veterinary practices. Other research compared and contrasted the business of veterinary medicine with other medical professions.

Fritz is the former Personal Finance Editor for Veterinary Economics, the monthly business authority for practicing veterinarians. He has authored more than 100 articles related to the business of veterinary medicine and personal finance. He has also contributed content to several books and on-line educational experiences, including the Veterinary Nutritional Advocate^SM and VetMedTeam.com. Fritz conducts 50 to 75 seminars each year, each very well-received and highly evaluated by attendees. He teaches annually at most veterinary medical schools, as well as local, state, regional, national and international venues. Fritz has presented in nearly every state and in more than a dozen countries. His presentations have positively impacted thousands of individuals and practices worldwide.

Fritz was Treasurer and served on the Board of Directors of the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF). He also served on the Pricing Subcommittee of the National Commission on Veterinary Economic Issues (NCVEI), and is a Founding Member of Vet Partners (formerly know as the Association of Veterinary Practice Management Consultants and Advisors).

Fritz holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas (1986). His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Veterinary Practice Management Consultants & Advisors. His previous experience included 10 years as a profit management consultant with a major global consulting firm.

Fritz and his wife of 21 years, Cathy, have four children (aged 8 to 18) and a beloved 11-year old Labrador retriever named "Rascal".
